Position: Assistant Store Manager

$22.00 per hour + Raises and Bonuses

Job Description: As an Assistant Store Manager at Mounds Pet Food Warehouse, you’ll play a crucial role in our mission to provide top-notch care for pets and their owners. Your days will be filled with excitement as you engage with fellow pet lovers, assist customers in navigating our wide range of offerings, and ensure every pet leaves our store with their tail held high.

  • Customer Connections: Create a warm and inviting atmosphere for all customers, initiating meaningful conversations. Share your expertise, listen to their stories, and provide personalized recommendations.
  • Display Dynamo: Infuse our store with your creativity by designing captivating displays that showcase the playfulness and practicality of our products. From interactive toys to stylish pet accessories, your touch will make our store a visual treat.
  • Team Synergy: Collaborate with your store team to ensure our store operates seamlessly. Share insights, knowledge, and camaraderie while jointly maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment.
  • Educational Enthusiasm: Embrace opportunities to expand your pet knowledge and expertise. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in pet care, nutrition, and training, empowering you to educate customers and aid them in giving the best care to their pets.

 

A Typical Day Includes:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the store
  • Completing store opening and closing procedures multiple times per week, including weekends
  • Hiring, training, motivating, and coaching employees for success
  • Supervising employees, delegating tasks, evaluating employee performance, and scheduling
  • Keeping the store stocked, organized, clean, and attractive to customers
  • Resolving conflicts or complaints from customers and employees
  • Maintaining knowledge of products available in the store
  • Ordering inventory, stocking sales floor, scanning items into the digital inventory system, and merchandising
  • Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

 

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of retail Store Management or Key Holder experience
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week during retail hours
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently to shoulder height and reach above eye level.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders
  • Computer skills or experience in point-of-sale systems
